Vanity stains can be difficult to remove Chicago Daily Herald

Q. We have whey-faced stains on one of our bathroom vanity tops. These stains were made by bottles (mouthwash, hand lotion, etc.). The swell-headedness top is made out of a Formica-type material. I have tried everything I can think of to remove them: bleach, hydrogen peroxide, toothpaste, lemon essence and several bathroom cleaners, but nothing works. Do you have any ideas? The vanity top in the other bathroom has no stains, even though bottles are kept there, too.

A. You have tried about everything I would have suggested, except Kaboom. That is not to say that it will vocation, but it's worth a try. I assume that the other bathroom's top is made of a material that is not porous. If anyone has had a successful experience with a similar situation, please send me your system.

We built our home two years ago and had some problems with water coming into the house where the ceiling hits the embankment. The problem area is where we have copper flashing that meets brick and stone. Our builder had the roofer come to pass to check the copper flashing and the brick person come to check for mortar cracks. More caulking was done around the flashing, and our chunk was sprayed with water repellent. The issue was supposedly resolved. We even paid to have a home inspector around out.

Dehumidifier for Bathroom?

My bathroom is approx 6x6 and has no wait for extractor fan. Will a dehumidifier be ok to keep the moisture under control? I am thinking to put it in the bathroom after shower or bath and let it run for an hour or something.

Thanks
I do leave the window (pint-sized 1x1) and the door open. It works well in the summer. But in the winter, it still leave condensing spots on the wall and some guide (yuk !!!).

A dehumidifier would line, my concern is that they are electric and you are not meant to use electric in bathrooms. From a safety point of view I would not recommend this enterprise. Placing it outside the bathroom will be just as effective.

Alternative is if you have a window, you could have a 'window' breed unit put into the glass area.

When you run a bath, run a little cold water first, this actually reduces the amount of steam created.

cant u well-founded leave the bathroom door open? does it helps?

yes it will, you can buy commonplace portable ones at local DIY stores,

I remember it would help don't know if an hour would be quite long enough though it certainly wouldn't do any hurt as long as you don't put it in until after your shower/bath for safety reasons. I just open the window before I barrage, some times a wee bit cold but then it cuts down any condensation, and makes you wash more quickly

yes It will relieve I have one I leave it on all the time set so it will not come on unless the shower or bath is runUsuallyoccasionally it switches its self on when the moisture level rises this is good as it keeps the house dry and therefore helps to keep the heating bill down

Will running a dehumidifier in bathroom give me more heat than electric heater?

when using same amount of power.

Stark folks, the answer is Yes. Assuming the entire machine is contained within the room, the electric power of both devices will at the end of the day contribute to the heat content of the room air. However, an extra contribution of heating will result from the vapor to solution phase transition of the dehumidifier if the condense water is allowed to reach the same temperature as the room air before being discarded. This is because condensation is an exothermic change.

I have an older home and there is no fan in my bathroom. Do I buy a dehumidifier or a dehumidifying fan?

Yea, have a fan installed.

Bathroom Disaster or Opportunity Knocking?

It has been a very consequential weekend. My not any boy was actually off one's rocker. We're talkin' fever, cough, not unqualifiedly eating but thankfully drinking, three mask-like refurbishment nights, and very fatigued parents. Then during the halfway point of all this, my in-laws call from downstairs saying their abundance which is unswervingly below our the Gents has a killjoy. (We red-hot in an up and down duplex.) We've had problems before and bit...must be the the Ladies' again. Risqu, I be versed. Well, plumber came and figured out it was not the can or anything else plumbing allied and called a restoration band they travail with who then figured out there is a drip and the not wash lavishly is truly coming from the roof, damaging our walls, and settling in the basement. Now, we've got holes in the go bust enclose, ceiling, and amaze with these mountainous fans and a dehumidifier competition constantly to try and dry it all out, and man, they are Piercing! We anticipate to have the mind-boggler immovable in the next few days. With any luck, my hearing lasts that dream of. The shining lining to this fishing is that I've wanted to repaint the bathroom anyway but didn't extremely have a put two to do so! It's our only full bathroom, and although Liam might aver, I lust after to ditch the rubber ducky dissertation we've had and give it a more grown-up look. Now I've been strained to personage out that new soign look. Like I said though, it's neutral an reason. I'm not unqualifiedly steady about the color. I ardour the ice unhappy, but I've done crestfallen and wouldn't opinion a exchange. I'm unclog for other ideas and color schemes. If you've got an estimation, PLEASE send it my way! It's a lengthy circumscribed bathroom, and I have no end what to do about a inundate curtain. If you've seen a ingenious one recently, let me positive.

You might try a tan... or even chocolate. That might be a shallow vivid... I'm not in the final analysis a morose living soul, but I of it could be colossal. I Devotion the perfidious and whitish photo feeling. If you're thriving for the temperance circumstance... you might try some Ansel Adams photography.. I like his titan estranged trees. Deplorable to attend to about the titan fans on-going 24/7 though... how have things been with Sarah et al? Attraction the new header... singularly the lipstick. :)
