Consumer Reports takes washers for a spin Washington Post (blog)

Considerable on my list of post-recession (and I mean the real recession, not the statistical one that allegedly is finished) snug harbor a comfortable improvements is to install a stacked, front-loading washer and dryer combo upstairs near my bedrooms. But, as I've written before, clash and vibration (not to mention flood risk) still worry me. My concerns are hardly unfounded, according to the hardly-released February issue of Consumer Reports. They tested 68 washer models--and found a few problems. According to Consumer Reports, the LG WM2010C-exemplar front-loading washer, at $600, moved several inches during their test. The machine's SpinSense option, which is supposed to cure reduce or eliminate vibration, did keep the machine in place, but then it extracted about 20 percent less water during the whirling cycle. They found the Frigidaire FTW3014K top-loader, a $500 machine with "Sound Silencer Plus" technology to be "melodious noisy" and a mediocre performer. Consumer Reports found that their reliability survey showed that 8 percent of front-loader problems were caused by mold or mildew. They said LG and Maytag front-loaders were "degree more susceptible than most brands surveyed." Their "Best Buys" included the Frigidaire Gallery GLTF2940F[S] exemplar, a $650 front-loader, and a GE top-loader, model WJRE5500G[WW] priced at $480. The good rumour: The magazine reports that prices are down as much as 33 percent from last year. A subscription is required to the magazine, but you can also find their full account online . How about it? Does your upstairs sound like the Coney Island Cyclone when you wash a cross of towels?

where is the lint trap on an LG washer/dryer?

I can't find the lint trimmings in my allinone washer dryer by LG.I have read the owners manual and it does not say anything about lint.

The LG All-in-one washer/dryer doesn't use a lint trap like historic dryers have. They call it a "Drain Pump Filter". Your user manual should have some instructions for cleaning it under a allot called "Maintenance". I don't have one of these machines, but I have read other reviews that say that this cleaning proceeding can be wet and messy, especially if it has to be cleaned while there are wet clothes in the washer.

Do I have space for a LG Steam Washer / Dryer?

My laundry closet is very feel mortified and currently has a (crappy) Fridgidaire combo stackable in there. The closet is basically 36 inch extensive, 36 inches deep, and 80 something inches tall. The LG washer / dryers are 29 3/4 inches mystical. Would basically 6 inches of room be enough for the gas line, dryer vent, and other plugs? Additionally, do think it would be a problem to simply stack and install the set outside of the closet and then just push it inside of the closet.

One more thing, my beat is cement with linoleum over top, will that be sturdy enough for the set not to make noise?

You'll be ok, it's only going to be a "b!tch to actually do because of the tight space.

Lg washer dryer vibrating and moving around?

Can anyone let me identify if this has happened to them? I bought a Lg washer-dryer combo and did one load, it was fine, then the next load on the spin cycle (600rpm) it sounded like a spiral upwards taking off into space and vibrated away from where I installed it! It was i bit scary. Rang LG the next day and the lady said the drum might be out of counterpoise. Having electician look at it tomorrow. Has anyone else had this problem or anything else go wrong with this machine?

don't own one - but it certainly does percipient like its off balance. I don't know what an electrician can do to help you though, its not electrical - its mechanical. Have you made sure the entity is level? - because if it isn't, then there is your probably, if it is, then its internal. Call an LG repair person.
