LG washer/dryer combo?
Jan 18, 2009 by Angel W | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
does anyone have the flatware LG direct drive washer/dryer combo i have no space for separate units so was thinking about getting 1 of these, does anyone have 1 of these, how efficient are they, how dream of do they take to wash and dry, can you stop the washing cycle if you wanted to or does it go straight from washing to drying without you being qualified to interfere, would you honestly recommend one, advice please thx!
Rather than rely on the warning of a few people on-line, I would go to the library tomorrow if I were you, and check out the periodicals section for the Consumer Reports arsenal. They have a thick book at the end/beginning of each year, so the 2008/2009 edition just came in January and is packed with recommendations and ratings for appliances, cars, apartment phones, cameras, etc. They rate based upon performance, cost, repair cost, features and a classify of other criteria, and I use them for every major purchase.
The subscription is about $25 a year, and that magazine is well worth getting or at least looking at at the library when contemplating a buy.
They do have an on-line presence, but you cannot access much info unless you are a magazine subscriber. Good luck with the W/D.

I do not have a burnished LG washer/dryer combo, but I do have a Kenmore HE3 front loader set, and I have some tips in general about the type. There are definite pros & cons! First, make unshakable they can be stacked. Some units have controls on the top, and therefore can't really be stacked. One of the major pros is that you can fit a lot of clothes in them, and even wave blankets & quilts. I haven't been to the laundromat in five years. One of the major cons is that if you aren't aware with how you use them, you may end up with "smelly washer". Do a google for "smelly washer" and you will read more than you ever in need of to know about it. You can get around the smelly washer syndrome - use about half the HE soap recommended & little if any fabric softener. Also keep the front door slight open between washes. The wash cycle is fairly long, but you get used to it fast, and the dry cycle is less shortened because the clothes come out with most of the moisture spun out of them. Mine allows you to add clothes for about the first 15 minutes or so, but after that - too dilatory! You can also pause the wash cycle at any point and let it sit and soak, but you probably can't open the door after it gets days a certain point. And the efficiency part of them is a mixed bag. Yes, they use a lot less water (theoretically saving water and heating costs), but I always put on an spare rinse because I'm just not sure enough water is getting used to really get the soap out -- so I'm not certain it really saves water in the end. Kind of like low-flow toilets that you end up flushing twice! Himself, I wish they used a little more water. Good Luck!

Lg washer dryer vibrating and moving around?
Feb 26, 2007 by qt1oo | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
Can anyone let me skilled in if this has happened to them? I bought a Lg washer-dryer combo and did one load, it was fine, then the next load on the spin cycle (600rpm) it sounded like a sky-rocket taking off into space and vibrated away from where I installed it! It was i bit scary. Rang LG the next day and the lady said the drum might be out of equality. Having electician look at it tomorrow. Has anyone else had this problem or anything else go wrong with this machine?
don't own one - but it certainly does logical like its off balance. I don't know what an electrician can do to help you though, its not electrical - its mechanical. Have you made sure the entity is level? - because if it isn't, then there is your probably, if it is, then its internal. Call an LG repair person.
