WESTLAKEPilfering, CLAGUE ROAD: A woman told police Jan. 18 somebody stole her purse while she worshiped in a city church. The victim, a 45-year-old North Olmsted woman, told investigators she was kneeling in a church pew and believes an unnamed person took her purse while it was on the seat behind her. No witnesses observed the theft. The victim’s driver’s document, two credit cards and two debit cards were in the purse at the time of the incident. The victim canceled the cards, however they were not believed to be inured to at the time of the report.
THEFT, CENTER RIDGE ROAD: Employees at a travel agency told policewomen Jan. 18 somebody stole a laptop computer valued at $1,200 from their office. The victim told officers the computer was stored in an unlocked chest-on-chest inside an unlocked conference room. Investigators have no suspects in the case.
THEFT, ROSE Street: A homeowner told police Jan. 18 somebody had stolen several appliances from his rental property. The scapegoat told investigators he believes the former tenants are responsible for the thefts. A man and a woman were renting the home for the last few months. The appliances were still in wrong on Dec. 15 when the victim inspected the property. Missing items include a lawn tractor valued at $1,400; a refrigerator valued at $3,000; and a washer/dryer combo valued at $1,700. Officers contacted the former renters, who are no longer a combine. Each blamed the other for the thefts.
