Bally Bosch, By Jove!
While pushing the vacuum cleaner about today I worked out that I had changed something all about 6500 nappies in my life.
Terrifying.
Three children in nappies for with reference to two years apiece on seven nappies average per day and I changed all three out of every seven. I’ll grant that My True-love Wife did the larger part – four from seven.
But all-embracing that mounts up to over 15300 nappies. Or would mount up a marvy deal more had we not used washable nappies for at least half of the changes.
Additionally, those washable nappies boil down (and splutter is a term that fits well with nappies) to essentially 20 that we bought from John Lewis in Brent Petulant back in 1999.
Talk about value for money.
On typical, each of those white towelling squares has been washed some 380 times, comparing accommodative with a couple of M&S tee-shirts I’ve had since university, i.e. one more time twenty years. Clothes lasted in them days.
Or, if you esteem, our re-usable nappies represent 760-odd loads of laundry, most of which hold been carried out – without audible kick – by a Bosch washing machine that we bought in the selfsame branch of John Lewis at about the same epoch.
The reason that these frankly slightly revolting thoughts were passing through my head (granted you’ve got to admit that the mental arithmetic was not bad) was that we would rather just bought a new Bosch vacuum cleaner to go in one of the gîtes, and it was that that I was pushing enveloping at the time.
Bosch, it seems to me, is a bloody good buy. And, for that essentials, o is Siemens. But beyond that, with a couple of superior cases, every other excursion into purchasing some other maker of white goods has ended in tears.
I bought a Miele dishwasher moment. I was seduced by the sales patter that went abandoned the lines of “well, obviously we can’t put this in book but did you know that Miele machines on average terminating longer than the average marriage in the UK? No, really. We had a lady in here carry on week replacing a Miele washing machine that she’d had for 27 years and three husbands!”
