A Tale of Two Stores (Or, Sears Kinda Sucks)

So, we possess this new house. New to us, anyway: the house dates from 1952, and while the appliances were quite not that old, I wouldn't have been shocked to get wind of they were from the 70s. I am absolutely positive the washer, at least, was undeniably the same washer my mom had when I was growing up. The refrigerator....OK. Let's just say that we were keeping drinks in the freezer, and they were juuuuust good.
So we had to buy new appliances. As with the house, I really mean "new to us," because having right-minded bought the house, we are broke like we've never been needy before. We were going strictly used or unplanned-and-dent, and we were making no bones about it.
On July 4th, we went to the Sears shop. I was incredibly happy to discover that they had the precise range I'd had my eye on: a Maytag 6875 electric range. Yes, we have planned abandoned our dream of running gas to the house (see: broke), so the one item I wanted to spend some money on was a nice moving range. After a lot of research, I thought I'd be happy with one of these, and I was be revenged contemplating paying full-price for it. But: they had it at the Sears vent, and at a really great price. Heck, we even got a stainless order for less than the price of a white or black one (as a rule stainless costs $200 more). Of progression, once you added the warranty/maintenance program ($199), the enunciation ($69) and the haul away of the old one ($10), it was still incredibly steep, but we were pretty happy, still. We set expression for the following Saturday, July 12.
On July 5th, we went up to the Maytag Cumulate, which also has a clearance room. No, don't worry: we didn't see our index there (well, we did, but brand new at $600 more, so we were that time happy). But we did buy a refrigerator (French doors, cause freezer: exactly what we wanted, in super-presumptuous black) and a front-loading high efficiency washer and dryer. By buying three appliances, align equalize from their clearance room, we qualified for a kick back of $200. Their...
