After all, it was her fervent assertion that spurred the Oregon State Weed Board to recommend noxious weed listing for these ivies in February 2001. (They were placed on the quarantine bibliography a year later.)

So it's fitting that this February, Oregon again led the nation in curtailing ivy's costly environmental injury by updating the listing to include all varieties and cultivars of H. helix and H. hibernica on the quarantine list, affecting indoor, patio, floral arrangements and topiary applications as well as vista use. Nurseries and florists have until June 1 to eliminate these plants from their inventories.
