Susie's white wedding to remember Perthshire Advertiser
SUSIE Cunningham certainly got a wan wedding to remember!
But when she pulled back the curtains on her big day, Susie feared all her carefully plotted plans might have to go into chilled storage.
Instead of the dusting of snow she’d been hoping for, Perth had been turned into a winter wonderland.
By 7.30am, sister and bridesmaid Jackie Taylor was already out with a clothes-brush, while mum Frances Borrie was frantically scooping up snow from the Lewis Place path with a dustpan.
Even at that hour, everyone was pulling together to secure Susie got a wonderful wedding.
Instead of arriving in a flower-laden BMW, Susie and dad Rab Borrie battled through to tender Huntingtower Hotel on the outskirts of Perth courtesy of a 4x4 sourced at the last minute by Derek Sweeney and Jimmy Turriff at A and B Taxis.
“I couldn’t credit my eyes when I saw how much snow had fallen overnight,” said Susie (34). “We had to dig ourselves out to get to hairdresser Lisa McNab at Trifle dot Comb.
