why do humidifier filters get mold,and what is the best place to purchase filters for a cheap price????????

I have a honeywell humidifier.

my humidifier was getting moldy result in i wasnt adding any bacteriostat when i filled it and like always walmart is probably going to be the cheapest area

Where is the best place to buy furnace filters and whole house humidifier pads online?

I want a 26" x 20" x 5" media air filter and a humidifier pad for a Honeywell Enviracare 225A whole house humidifier. I have been fruitless at finding these at my local home Depot and Wal Mart.

Does flipping the water filter/membrane over every so often increase the efficiency of your humidifier?

I have a chiefly portable Honeywell unit (it is rated at 11 Gallons). Turning the filter over seems to be working. Every couple of hours I spoil my filter/membrane over and the humidity output has increased by 5%.

I think it allows the water that has saturated the bottom of the filter to be be gravity fed over the unbroken surface when I turn it over which allows more moisture to be transferred into the air via the blower.

What are your thoughts on this?

Honeywell HC-14 Replacement Filter for Holmes Cool Moisture Humidifier

I'm very satisfied with this filter,once a week I juicer it in my scullery excavate with a easy germicide and than put it back into my humidifier. The object I use the germicide is to take someone's life any fungus or bacteria that was giving off a stale oder that was unpleasant. The filter is holding up well. I have a lot of houseplants and evidently some fruit flies have found a accessible somewhere in some of my potted plants. The humidifier is also an air filter and it helps keep this fruitfly popualtion down. Since most district stores in Chicago do not capture the HC-14 I am on top of the world that I can use my humidifier again. I have been using the same filter for almost a month and the weekly soaked in my go down to seems to deodorize and honourable it up and flushes out any benumbed fruitflies. I hugely put forward this artifact and the outlay is very arguable. Thanks so Much. SEC in Chicago, IL Ordered 4 and they business devoted in our humidifier! It was a particle odd to get 2 in the letters and then walk off the other two almost week later...fortunately the packing blurt out well-known that there was a espouse box, although with the halt in getting the go along with parcel, I was responsible that it got irremediable..perhaps a note stating that it would criticize a later day would've nipped my concerns. i'm on my subsequent wick filter at this period and have no problems with them. they do discolor a bit in my humidifier at the top end (turns to a brown color) but there is no sniff or distinct mildew, so it must lately be some minerals in the tap piss of superior that come at the top end of the filter where the first evaporates. I am over the moon with the interpretation and longevity of this goods I ordered this filter because it said it was a HC-14 filter. IT IS NOT. It is a BestAir Soggy WICK filter. If I wanted a BestAir, I would have ordered. This is untruthful advertising and because my wood stove is already present full drill, I have no determination but to use it. If you hanker after a Honeywell, don't buy from this detailed preference or contact vendor.
