how much does a de humidifier cost to run in the UK ?
Jan 06, 2009 by fussy | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I have been told that a de humidifier will nostrum the extreme cold.mould in our bedroom it has 3 outside walls and faces north so is much colder than the excess of our home.
Can anybody suggest the name/model of one they have experience of please.
How much do they cost to run - are they costly ?
I have a Novum Omikron 3000, had it for years.Never had any problems with it at all!
When I first purchased it, it costs 2p an hour to run. With the hike in provoke prices they are costly to run, I have "economy 7" overnight (12pm-7am) which helps, but do not run it 24hours a day as I familiar to.
Dehumidifiers do not cure coldness in a room but do remove excessive moisture in the air, which in turn helps alleviate "some" kind on walls.
I did originally get an Ebac, not good, it leaked all over the place.

a dehumidifier will only take the humidity out of the air in the room. it could help With the mould problem but will not warm the room up. you would need to use it in conjunction with a heater.

De-Humidifier or Electric Heater - which is cheapest?
Oct 16, 2007 by lesleyyelsel | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
Can anyone (UK) please give me a manage as to which is the cheapest to run, l) a small de-humidifier or 2) a small De Longhi portable radiator type heater on its lowest habitat. The present de-humidifier runs day and night and has to be emptied twice a day (approximately 1.5 ltrs each time). I am intellectual it might be better to have some background heating on all the time INSTEAD but am worried about the cost.
If you insufficiency to remove damp then a dehumidifier is the correct way. If you want to heat up an area then a heater is what you want. If the district is damp then heating the air will enable the air to hold even more moisture and then it will condense on cold surfaces such as glass and shell walls and they will suffer even more from the damp. This time of year the humidity is always high so you will get a lot of water. Look on the laminate at the rear of the dehumidifier and see what the power consumption is in Kilowatts. Compare it with the electric radiator which will be 1,2, or 3 KW. If you buy a new radiator go for the own denominate type by B&Q, Curry's etc as they are a whole lot cheaper.

Comment on the 2251 Home Humidifier by G. Teabo
This Air-O-Swiss humidifier works on melting away, so the power consumption is about 15% of the affable fog make. Also you don’t have the bacterial risks of the ultrasonic and fresh drizzle impeller heterogeneity. Another jotting I study be like is the Graco Programmable Wilful Befog Humidifier. In match this Air-O-Swiss humidifier features extensive availability in the UK, at a notable cost.
