Vacuum cleaner salesmen suck the life from you The Age

I BOUGHT a vacuum cleaner the other day. I allow to enter this is not the most exciting of purchases. It is really just a dirt bag with a pipe. But it caused me to have a minor meltdown in Dick. I'm not fond of those. They never end well.

At the moment I'm slap in the middle of my first attempt at house painting. Until now I was blissfully unaware of the aggregate of dust and paint scrapings that would fill my house, hair and eyes. It wasn't long before I realised my crappy Dustbuster, with a hose held together by gaffer strip, was never going to do the clean-up job required.

I headed off to a large chain store that specialises in high-acting suction machines, TVs and white goods, in a Homemaker Centre. These are really just big tin sheds tarted up to look like rely on stores. One-stop shops for budding Jamie Duries who embrace the renovation dream, then relive the authoritative failure every day when they look at their broken water feature and half-finished pergola.

I enter the preserve and am faced with a selection of vacuums that seem to be designed by six-year-old boys who like multicoloured spaceships. How a jet-swarm exterior improves vacuuming performance is beyond me.

How well does Dyson vacuum cleaners work compared to a normal?

I am in view of buying a Dyson DC14 or DC15. How well would you rate these on a scale of 1-10 in comparison to a normal vacuum. Any problems or dislikes about them?

Likes: It sweeps like the sod! When I first got mine it almost ripped the carpet off the floor. It's really powerful, is lightweight, and doesn't encumber.

Dislikes: It's all plastic and cheap looking. I haven't had any problems but my mother-in-law's strapped after two weeks and she had to take it back. It's expensive as all get out and so are the parts. You HAVE to trim any and all snags in your carpet because it will tangle on stuff other vacuums won't. I accidentally ran it over the phone line and the sweeper snapped it in seconds! Be extra careful!!!

In all I would have to say it's a wonderful sweeper that is well worth the bucks. It's right up there with Orecks, and Rainbow sweepers. It's definitely a 10 on power and an 8 on durability...

it works 350 times happier!

Too well! They don't remember when to stop sucking. I cant quite believe anyone would actually use one of these contraptions in their home. Have you ever emptied one after hoovering and seen how much carpet it lifts never wit how much dirt.

Are Dyson Vacuum Cleaners good compared to other models?

A vacuum cleaner is meant to do just that: clean! And that’s what my old vacuum wasn’t doing. And it was so
heavy! Recently I read about Dyson Vacuum Cleaner in a locality (http://www.dysonvaccumcleanerreview.com ). Is it
really lighter than the one which are there in the market. Doesn’t it have a bag to dispose like in other
regular models?

The go over again link you posted stated that Dyson Vacuum Cleaners are among the heavier and pricier vacuum cleaners on the market. I am a big believer in most of the research Consumer Reports does and it lists Dyson, but not as a stable option. Most of them do have a bag to dispose of like most upright models but some do not.

I have purchased the Eureka Boss Smart Vac Ultra 4870, and it is wonderful. It was only around $125 but it is great and easy to use. It is also a Consumer Report "Best Buy" and that is against vacuums in the 3, 4, 5 hundred and even $1350 appraisal range! It is heavier than I expected (about 20 pounds) but it really kicks some butt when in use. Again, it is so simple to birch rod from carpet to hardwood to the hose and has a clip to lock the power cord in place so it's not always in the way.

How do you think a Roomba compares to other vacuum cleaners?

I have one of those Roomba sweeper robots which I at bottom like since it saves time, but my mom doesn't seem to like it for some reason that I don't know. Does anyone here have one, and how do you think it does?

I hatred the Roomba and can totally identify with your mom. It doesn't reach all the areas that need to be vacuumed and gets in the way.
Have you tried the Oreck?
